The frills are the best bit as they add some lovely texture and movement. I did have to steam it for a good twenty minutes to get the creases out from delivery, so make sure you've got time for that.

I needed something elegant for a formal charity gala last month and decided to give this one a go. The mermaid cut is absolutely stunning, but just a heads-up, it is definitely form-fitting! I had to wear some proper shapewear underneath to feel completely confident, but once I did, I felt brilliant. The strapless top stayed up surprisingly well; I wasn't tugging at it all night, which is a bit of a miracle. The colour looks exactly like the photos, really rich and vibrant.

My only little niggles are that the zip was a bit stiff at the very top, and delivery took a few days longer than I expected.

The satin is thick enough to keep you warm, which was a brilliant bonus. However, as it's strapless and quite heavy, by the end of the night after hours on the dancefloor, I was fairly ready to take it off. It’s definitely more of a 'stand and look pretty' dress than a 'dance all night' one. Still, the photos came out absolutely stunning, so I’m really chuffed with the purchase.

The satin fabric has a surprisingly lovely weight to it, not cheap or flimsy at all. It fit really well straight out of the parcel, though I did need to get it taken up a bit as I'm on the shorter side.
