I received an award at a gala dinner and wore this up on stage. I was worried about tripping on the stairs, but the mermaid flare starts high enough up the leg to give you full freedom of movement. I felt so elegant accepting my award. The dress has a lovely weight to it, making it drape beautifully over your figure.

Took this on a cruise for formal night. I was worried the sequins would get ruined in my suitcase, but I rolled it up carefully and it unpacked looking absolutely fine. No creases, which is a massive bonus when you haven't got a steamer. The V-neck is cut a bit low so I had to find the right bra to wear with it, but once that was sorted it looked fab.

I wore this to my cousin's evening wedding last weekend and honestly it was much more comfortable than I expected. Usually sequins scratch my arms to bits but the lining on this one did a great job protecting my skin. I managed to sit through the whole dinner and even have a bit of a dance without feeling restricted. The V-neck is flattering without being over the top. Definitely a solid choice if you need something formal but still want to be able to breathe.

The colour is really what sold me on this. It looks a bit different depending on the lighting, which is quite cool. In normal daylight, it looks like a deep, rich shade, and at night with indoor lighting, it sparkles a lot more. The sweep train is elegant, but dragging it around outside for photos did get the very bottom hem a bit dirty. Nothing a dry cleaner can't sort out, though.

Wore this for the evening gown round of a local pageant. Under the stage lights, the sparkle is absolutely unreal. It moves beautifully when you walk, which is so important for that sort of event. The train trails behind you nicely without getting tangled around your feet. I did have it taken up about an inch as I'm on the shorter side even in heels, but the tailor had no issues working with the fabric.
